WVC sponsors fulfill the following roles:
- Host Sponsoring University
- Sponsoring Universities (not Host)
- Sponsoring Private Practice
- Sponsoring Professional Societies
- Sponsoring Public Institution
Host Sponsoring University
In consultation with the joint managers, the host sponsoring university is responsible for organizing and running the Congress.
Sponsoring Universities (not Host)
Sponsoring universities are primarily responsible for promoting the WVC in their own countries, and for identifying suitable speakers for the next WVC, as well as to generally advance the WVC.
Sponsoring Private Practice
The sponsoring private practice firm is responsible for maintaining the mailing list of past participants, production and distribution of publicity material and registration brochures for the next Congress, as well as to generally advance the WVC.
Sponsoring Professional Societies
Sponsoring professional societies help the trustees plan the programme and also assume responsibility for the distribution of brochures. Until its merger in January 2000 with The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Incorporated Society of Valuers &
Auctioneers was the permanent sponsoring professional society of WVC. This position has now been assumed by RICS. However, when the Congress meets outside the UK, the local professional valuation society of the host location is approached to act as a sponsoring institution.
Sponsoring Public Institution
The sponsoring public institution is responsible for communication with WVC communities (mailing list and interested others) and for identifying national organizations with which WVC might liaise.
