Widening the Network -Action in the New Millenium

The mission of WVC is to stimulate and facilitate the international exchange of information about the principles and practice of the valuation of land and property particularly relating to new methods of practice and research. Until recently its efforts have been limited to biennial congresses and the concomitant publication of the papers, but moving into the new millenium steps are being taken to extend the range of activity.

WVC has had a long association with the Journal of Property Investment and Finance beginning with the Journal's predecessors the Journal of Valuation and later the Journal of Property Valuation and Investment. Ever since WVC I at Cambridge in 1984, many of the papers presented at Congress have been published in these journals. The publisher is MCB University Press and WVC has been working closely with MCB over the last year to broaden and deepen the exchange of information.

In another collaboration with MCB, WVC has been pleased to endorse the Built Environment Internet Research Register and to join the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in this association. Research in progress can be registered here and information obtained about research being carried on by other people.
